Henry Moore was born on the 9th of February in 1902 to parents Elizabeth and Henry Moore.
His Mom was a housewife and his Dad who served in the First World War was a toolmaker by trade.
Henry had 3 brothers, Tom, Sid, John and 2 sisters Elizabeth and Elsie and the family lived at 2 Furnace Lane, Lozells.
Henry went to Gower Street School and at the age of 14 he left to work as a welder at Kynocks in Perry Barr where he met his future wife Ethel Collacott.
They were married on the 8th September, 1928 and went to live at 1/172 Guildford Street and then later back to No. 2 Furnace Lane where he had lived as a child. They had 2 children Grace and John.
Because his job was classed as war work he was deferred from the Second World War and so became an Air-Raid-Warden.
After the war Henry and Ethel lived happily in Furnace Lane and then in the 1970’s they moved once again.
This time it was to Shard End where they celebrated their Diamond Wedding Anniversary.
At the Age of 94, Henry passed away in the Heartlands Hospital in 2002.
