Lily Robinson was born in 1911 at Sutherland Street, Aston, she was the daughter of Charles Robinson a one legged Painter & Decorator of Aston. Lily met her future husband in around 1931 his name was William James Collins, William was a Chauffer for a film company, a driver for Slumberland and Averill’s Transport before setting up his own transport business. They lived at 71 Shalford road, South Yardley.
Lily worked at Dunlops and was an Usherette at the Coventry Odeon before settling down as a housewife with her 4 children, two boys, William jnr, Brian and two girls, Jean and Elaine.
Lily, died at the Heartlands Hospital in 1987 at the age of 76, she is buried at Robin Hood with her Husband William.
