SERVICE:-

Records show that he enlisted

in March 1902. Saw active service

in the First World War and was awarded

the V.C. for his actions under fire in

broad daylight on 25 September 1915

during the battle of Loos near Hulluch

France. As a V.C. holder he was one of

the guard of honour at the internment of

the Unknown Soldier at Westminster Abbey.

On 11th November 1920.
